Kenya Academic Calendar
The inaugural term of the academic year is set to commence on January 8, 2024, and will draw to a close on April 5, 2024, spanning a total of 13 weeks.
A brief respite will occur during the three-day half-term break from February 29, 2024, to March 3, 2024.
Following the April holiday, schools will reopen for the second term on April 29, 2024, with the term scheduled to conclude on August 2, 2024.
This translates to a 14-week duration for the second term.
The subsequent third term is notably concise, spanning a duration of 9 weeks from August 26, 2024, to October 25, 2024.
Primary schools will administer only two examinations, namely KPSEA and KILEA, spanning four days from October 28, 2024, to October 31, 2024.
The high-stakes Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams will commence on November 4, 2024, and conclude on November 22, 2024, lasting for a total of 3 weeks.
Upon completion of the examinations, learners will embark on an extended December holiday, spanning 10 weeks from December 28, 2024, to January 3, 2024.

Term 1 is scheduled from January 8, 2024, to April 5, 2024.
The commencement of Term 2 is set for April 29, concluding on August 2, 2024.
Term 3 is slated to run from August 26 to November 8, 2024.
